Charlotte Lennox (1785-1821) was an English poet, novelist, and playwright. Her most famous work is the 1823 novel Joan of Arc. She also wrote novels, poetry, and theatrical pieces; she is best remembered today for her work in drama. Her father was author John Horne Tooke (1736-1812), who had founded Blackwood's Magazine in 1780
Her siblings included the novelist Charles Brockden Brown (1799-1859), poet Anna Laetitia Barbauld (1743-1809), and dramatist Elizabeth Inchbald (1753-1821). Charlotte Lennox died in childbirth at the age of thirty-six.
